Bull Frog Fridgie




Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit - I can almost hear the chorus of frogs can't you?  Work up a few for your fridge today.

Materials:
Sm amt 4-ply WW yarn (Green)
Crochet hook, size G (4.25 mm)

Finishing Materials:
2 plastic eyes 1/4" in dia
Glue
Magnet
Tapestry needle

Finished Size: 4 1/2" T
Gauge: Not important to overall size

Special Stitches:
Sc Dec: (insert hook in indicated st) as many times as specified, yo, draw through all lps on hook to complete the st.

Frog:

Row 1) Starting with head: ch 2; (3 hdc) in 2nd ch from hook: 3 hdc.

Row 2) Ch 1, turn work; (2 hdc) in first st, hdc in next hdc, (2 hdc) in last hdc: 5 hdc.

Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; sk first st, sc in next 3 hdc: 3 sc.

Row 4) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn work; (2 dc) in first st, dc in next sc, (3 dc) in last sc: 7 dc.

Row 5) Starting body: ch 1, turn work; sc in first st; * trc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * across: 4 sc/3 trc.

Row 6) Ch 1, turn work; (2 sc) in first st, sc in next 5 sts, (2 sc) in last st: 9 sc.

Row 7) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st; * trc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * across: 5 sc/4 trc.

Row 8) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st; * sc in next st; rep from * across: 9 sc.

Row 9) Rep row 7

Row 10) Ch 1, turn work; sc dec over first and second sts see special sts, sc in next 5 sts, sc dec over last 2 sts: 7 sc.

Row 11) Creating leg: sl st in last sc of previous row, ch 10, sl st in 4th ch from hook, (ch 3, sl st in same ch) twice, sc in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, (2 hdc, dc) in next ch, dc in last 2 ch, sl st in last sc on next row. Fasten off; secure ends.

Rem Legs:

Row 1) Front right leg: RS facing (puffs facing), join yarn to last sc on row 5 with a sl st; ch 7, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, (ch 2, sl st in same ch) twice, sc dec over next 3 ch, sc in last ch, sl st last sc on row 4. Fasten off; secure ends.

Row 1) Front left leg: RS facing, join yarn to last dc post on row 4 with a sl st; ch 7, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, (ch 2, sl st in same ch) twice, sc in next 2 ch, (2 sc) in next ch, sc in last ch, sl st in last sc in next row. Fasten off; secure ends.

Row 1) Bottom left leg: WS facing, join yarn to last sc on row 8 with a sl st; ch 10, sl st in 4th ch from hook, (ch 3, sl st in same ch) twice, sc in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, (2 hdc, dc) in next ch, dc in last 2 ch, sl st in last sc on next row. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing:

Attach magnets to back of frog. Glue eyes to face as desired, or use the photo as a guide.
